Hi there, I'm Isabella
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Rome, Italy.
Several years ago, my family and I moved here. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built AlvenMivRavani
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something real changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Isabella
